WHO WE ARE

A trusted industrial partner in Africa

Welcome to INDUSTECH, where engineering expertise meets cutting-edge innovation to shape the future of industry.

We deliver high-performance industrial solutions, advanced technology, and precision engineering tailored to help businesses optimize operations and scale efficiently. Driven by a commitment to reliability, sustainability, and technological excellence, we empower our partners to stay ahead in a rapidly evolving global market.

About the CEO — Majobe Baye is a prominent Gambian entrepreneur and industrial developer. He is best known as the Founder and CEO of INDUSTECH GROUP (also known as INDUSTECH AFRICA), an international engineering, heavy construction, and industrial investment firm.

Majobe is also known for delivering extremely complicated repairs on critical equipment in the mining, power generation and ports industries in Africa, cutting down time by days, if not weeks or months — as demonstrated with DP WORLD, LAFARGE-HOLCIM and CASTEL, just to name a few.

Career & Entrepreneurial Journey — After returning from North Africa in 2009, Baye refused to be hired and chose to start his own company in The Gambia. With limited resources, a small piece of family land, and a financial loan to buy a prepaid electricity meter, he launched his company, which eventually grew and became international. Majobe has shown a persistence his family did not expect — he never gave up.

His rise was confronted with multiple challenges — at some point many thought it was the end of his company — but Baye would not give up, and today he is unshakable in the African industrial market.

Key Projects — His company quickly scaled from localized Gambian infrastructure, such as the Brikama water project and the Bakoteh Fish Market, to massive continental energy and mining contracts.

Regional Expansion — Under his leadership, INDUSTECH GROUP has executed major works across Africa. Notable projects include expanding the Compagnie des Bauxites de Guinée (CBG) in Guinea and supporting the Société Nationale d'Électricité. Today, INDUSTECH's biggest clients are DP WORLD and CDG.

Sector Expertise — Majobe's industrial expertise spans Energy & Infrastructure (power plants, oil & gas facilities, petrochemical plants, cross-border rail transport infrastructure, fuel tanks, transmission and distribution lines, transformers) and Mining & Heavy Industry (steel structures, mineral wagons, locomotives, heavy crane maintenance, floating objects, conveyor belts & accessories, OTR tyres, heavy equipment and mechanical parts).

OUR STORY

From a 200-dollar loan to multi-million-dollar projects

Industech Africa started in March 2009. Its founder, Majobe Baye, began with a loan of roughly 200 dollars and the conviction that work handled until then from Europe or the Gulf could be handled from within the region.

The starting point was simple. Operators of critical infrastructure — ports, mines, power plants, oil and gas sites — share one constraint: an equipment outage costs tens of thousands of dollars a day. As long as the expertise able to work on those machines has to fly in, the mobilisation delay costs more than the job itself.

Since then the company has taken part, directly or indirectly, in multi-million-dollar industrial projects across the continent. It is also registered under the names INDUSTECH SUARL and Majobe & Co. LTD.

The network now spans four countries — The Gambia, Senegal, Côte d'Ivoire and Trinidad and Tobago — with its own equipment, its own certified welders, and more than twenty technical specialities covered in house.

Where we operate

Four countries, two continents — Africa and the Caribbean

Industech Africa works from four bases, which means a team can be mobilised without waiting on a long-haul flight. The head office is in The Gambia; the three other bases cover their respective markets.

Quality, inspection and safety

The four disciplines that open — or close — a site to you

On a container terminal or a refinery, no contractor gets through the gate without demonstrating command of these four. They shape how the company works, not just what its files say.

  • QAQuality assurance

Procedures written before the job: welding procedure specifications, inspection plans, qualification of the people doing the work.

  • QCQuality control

Checks during and after the work: dimensional conformity, inspection of joints, close-out of punch items.

  • NDTNon-destructive testing

Dye penetrant, magnetic particle and ultrasonic testing to find cracks and defects without stripping or damaging the part.

  • QHSEQuality, health, safety, environment

The client's protocols applied without negotiation, whatever the pressure on the schedule.

Our values

What is not up for negotiation on site

Safety first

On an oil site or a port crane, no schedule justifies cutting a procedure short. Our teams apply the client's protocols and their own, without trade-offs.

Technical self-sufficiency

Our own welding, lifting and inspection equipment. We do not depend on a subcontractor to meet a response time.

Local skills

Teams recruited and trained locally, across all four countries of operation. The company also trains for others: building regional capability is part of the job.

Traceability

Inspection reports, welding procedures, quality controls: every job leaves a record the client and their insurer can work from.
